OLU OLU is one of the best known African food and beverage brands.
The group comprises OLU OLU Industries (Nigeria), Upland Flour Mills (Nigeria), Yem Yom Ventures (UK) and United Tastes of Africa Inc. (USA).
The group prides itself as food and beverage manufacturers, industrial and agricultural plants fabricators and importer/exporter of tropical foods and drinks. We also supply engineering parts and offer technology consultancy. In 1999, we commenced the canning of Jolloff rice, Moi moi (beans sponge cake), egusi (vegetable stew), herb spiced pepper soup (mildly hot) and Asaro (yam porridge).
Corn powder (ogi/ogi baba) was added to the list of 'new entrants' by early spring of 2000. The group's turnover for 1999/2000 is over $5million, anticipated to grow at an annual rate of 25% in the next two years due to newly introduced canned products and expanding markets in the USA, Caribbean Islands and Southern Africa.
The group is probably the largest producer and exporter of indigenous African foods to Europe and America. We currently enjoy 65% of the processed yam and bean sector of the market and about 45% of the rest of other processed foods. We are also the leading processor and marketer of canned African foods and delicacies.
