Method

  1. Heat milk, cream, and nutmeg in a saucepan until it begins to simmer.
  2. Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a separate bowl until smooth.
  3. Gradually pour hot milk into eggs, whisking constantly.
  4. Return mixture to heat and cook until it thickens (don’t boil).
  5. Remove from heat, add vanilla and rum, chill, and serve with cinnamon.
