Coconut Gari

This is our special blend of Coconut flavoured Gari, which is roasted cassava granules that have a slightly sour taste, due to its fermentation process. The cassava tubers are grown across West Africa, sundried, and left to ferment for a few days, before being milled into grits and roasted on an open fire to give it a crispy crunch and deep flavour profile.

INGREDIENTS: Cassava, Desiccated Coconut, Coconut Milk Powder

PREPARATION:

To create a delicious and highly nutritious meal. Boil 3/4 cup of water or fresh milk in a saucepan. Add 1 tsp of Coconut Oil, 1tsp of Honey and 1/3 cup of Gari granules; and stir well till a lump free dough is formed. Add another 1/2 cup of water to the dough, reduce the heat and cover. Leave to cook for a further 3-5 minutes. Knead the dough again until smooth and velvety. Serve hot with a stew or accompaniment of your choice. 

OR TRY THIS:

  • BAKE: add to your biscuit, cake or bread mix for added nutrition 
  • DRESSING: sprinkle over your soup or salad for extra bulk and nutrition
  • FRY: add to your fritters mix for extra richness and nutrition
  • SOAK: add to cold water with milk, sugar, nuts etc. to eat as a snack
