Poundo Iyan

Pounded yam or Íyàn is a Nigerian staple food, that is native to the several ethnic groups. It is a traditional meal, and is prepared by pounding boiled yam with a mortar and pestle. Pound ‘ol Iyan flour is similar to mashed potatoes but heavier. It is a smooth and tasty delicacy traditionally eaten with stews, soups or gravy.
